The trip that almost wasn't

This is the trip that almost wasn't and it will be the one that will carry the most memories. I enjoyed laughing and sharing with my sister, loving on my nieces and listnening to my Brother in Law preach the word of God. But the greatest gift of all was to be able to share this trip with my Mom and Dad.

There's nothing like sitting on the beach in the early morning drinking coffee

laughter is good for the soul

If laughter is good for the soul, then my soul is in good shape. We took our bikes to Pentwater to go riding for the weekend and I know this is a real shocker but it rained all weekend and our butt's never touched the seats of our bikes. Did we let this spoil our fun, oh no not us! In fact the more it rained the more we laughed...weird I know... but that's just the way we roll, on or off our bikes!!!!

She liked them...

Oh wait...what is that I see...sunshine...yup the day we leave...nice real nice...

getting back on track

This morning as I was getting ready to walk 10 miles in the Crim, yes 10 miles, I said to myself, this would be a great jump start to getting back on track with my diet. So today before I had left downtown Flint, after walking 10 Miles, I had eaten...1 Krispie cream doughnut, 2 protien bars, 3 popsciles, 1 bananna, a piece of pizza, drank 2 cokes, Gator aid and now I am on my way to Panara Bread for dinner. What a great way to start a diet!!!!

Crim Day

We did it! 10 miles...1 runner 3 walkers and 1 Teddy Bear Trott
Thank you Randy, Sharon and Jill for cheering us on...

Debbie and I walking the Bradley Hills...they are real butt kickers...

Brandon's first Crim...I'm not so sure he loved the Bradley Hills...

Things that go bump in the night

So, we are sitting around the campfire in Pentwater, the fire is roaring, music is playing, people are laughing when John let's out a scream any little girl would be proud of. His leg's fly up in the air and we all laugh but he's yelling, no...no something ran into my chair and bit me. Now, John being the jokester that he is no one believed him until Stella, who was sitting next to him, started screaming no no I saw it...a fury creature was under his chair. Half heatedly I got out of my chair to inspect the leg in question and sure enough there was blood and bite marks. Well needless to say all pandemonium broke loose around the fire, screaming like you have never heard, what to do what to do. Should he go to the hospital or should we call the police or just wait, so we did nothing until Sunday night when we got home from Pentwater. I looked rabies up on the Internet and it said,"if bitten by an unknown creature seek help immediately. Once you start to exhibit symptom's it's to late". Being the good wife that I am I sent him on his way, thinking they'll probably just give him a shot and some pills and he will be fine. Well, he didn't get 1 shot he got 15 shot's and he will need a shot once a week for 4 weeks. So next time you are enjoying sitting out at a bonfire... just be careful of thing's the go "BUMP" in the night....

What a weekend

What a weekend we had! It all started Sat. with the first annual Northern Keaton Family Reunion. There were about 60 brave Keaton's who came out and huddled together under the pavilion at Holly State Recreation Center. Then Sunday my family gathered together to celebrate Joanna's and Allies birthday on what was the hottest day of the summer. I'm not complaining or anything about the heat but my family looked a little sweaty sitting outside for dinner. Yes, I made them eat outside in this heat. It was my party and I can eat where I want to, so I did. Sorry family...The best part of the weekend was having Joanna home. I miss my girl and it had been a long time sence our family had spent any time with her. You are loved little girl and it was so good to have you home!

Ok so

Ok, so apparently I can't sit around all day and do nothing. I got a little bored and felt like a 2 yr old when I started whinning, "Johhhhn I'm bored". We set up the bean bag game and I'd like to say I was the winner but, no, I lost 5 out of 5 games. Done with that game.....

This is all

I took the day off of work and this is absoulutley all I got done today. I guess I should feel guilty, but I don't. I had lot's of "work" I could have gotten done but life is short and summer is even shorter. There will be lot's of time to get things done inside when the snow began's to blow so today I will just enjoy doing absoulutley nothing....

Girlfriend day

It seems like forever sence the girl's have gotten together and I missed them all. We had so much to catch up on, new Grandbabies, job interviews, bike rides, vacations, window's of time and on and on. There was so much I just hope I didn't miss anything. This picture is of Sharon's gate leading into her pool. Thankyou for letting us come and float and talk and eat more snacks and let our friendships blossom even more.
As always we must eat when we get together. I missed those of you who couldn't come today....

Kim's yummy sandwich...the rest of us had salads and lot's of brown roll's with honey butter and cinnamon....

Were off again

Were off again this time to the Betsy River Trail. We started in Frankfurt and our first stop along the trail was the little town of Beulah nestled right on Crystal Lake. It was a beautiful ride along Crystal lake and I only wish we would have stopped in Beulah and not contiued on to Thompsonville. It was the ride to nowhere, uphill for 12 miles. Sometimes you don't mind a little harder of a ride if there is something pretty to look at and when you get to your destination you find a cute little town with an ice cream shop to relax at. We found none of that, in fact Mark hit it on the nail when he said, this town is unexceptable and spooky like a ghost town. We got out of Dodge as fast as our little legs would pedal and rode another miserable 12 miles back to Beulah. So if your ever inclined to ride the Betsy River Trail...Stop and turn around in Beulah and you won't be disappointed...that part is an awesome ride.
When your in Beulah make sure to eat at the Hungry Tummy...they have the best Pizza!!! Not even kidding about that one...

The view along Crystal lake was breath taking.....
